This is the 1950s and 60s invasion picture rendered on a dial: flying saucers hovering over a city skyline, a grainy sky full of small stars, and a silhouette of buildings that exists mainly to be menaced. The inverted numerals are the modern touch, and they do something those films did too. Something is off, you cannot immediately say what, and the discomfort arrives before the explanation does.
