Huawei is announcing the Band 8 next Monday with a stylish new look

Huawei will be launching their latest smart wristbands, the Huawei Band 8, on Monday, and the promotional material has surprised us with the new improvements made to the weight and overall appearance of the wearable device. The promo tagline “Standing edge full screen, light and thin and then evolved!” hints at significant upgrades from the previous model. Huawei has shared a promotional poster of the Band 8, revealing many details, so there is no need for speculation on the surface design. It is worth noting that the Band 8 will debut alongside the Nova 11 series at the conference on April 17.

Based on the poster, the Huawei Band 8 features a redesigned frame that is flat on all sides, and appears to be made of ceramic material that looks better than the previous Band 7. The device comes in three colors, including Green, Sakura Pink, and Dark Black, each with matching straps that feature some carved design elements. The rectangular screen is bright and appears taller than the previous model, and the new frame design gives the Band 8 an entirely new look that consumers will appreciate.

As we do not know any of the specifications of the hardware, let’s take a look at it’s predecessor:

The 7th version of the Huawei Band features a 1.47-inch AMOLED screen, a thickness of 9.99mm, and a weight of 16 grams. In contrast to the Band 8, the previous model has a 2.5D curved design with round edges and large bezels. The Band 7 has a large battery that provides up to 2 weeks of backup with optimal use and up to 10 days with heavy usage. It includes various health and fitness features such as the TruSeen heart rate monitor, TruSleep 2.0, TruSport, and TrueRelax. Additionally, the Band 7 offers practical features such as find my phone, tap-to-wake screen functionality, and a 5 ATM-rated water resistance, making it a convenient and functional wearable device.
