Google Keep is considered one of the best tools for taking great notes. It offers dedicated apps for every platform, including Google’s Wear OS. However, the smartwatch version of the app has been challenging to use in the past, but it has recently improved in helping people remember their tasks. In December, the app received a visual update, and new features were announced for the smartwatch version last month. Among these features are new watch face complications that will be available on smartwatches in the near future.
According to 9to5Google, the latest version of Google Keep for Wear OS (version 5.23.102.03) includes new watch face complications called “Add list” and “Add note.” Tapping on either of these icons will open up a dialogue box that allows users to choose between voice and text input. These new additions can be accessed through the complication slot picker in the Wear OS app, as long as the update has been rolled out in your region. If the update is not yet available in your region, you can try downloading and installing this version of Keep for Wear OS from APKMirror.
The new Google Keep features on Wear OS are not groundbreaking, but they are definitely welcomed. The company has been updating some of its core applications for some time now, especially leading up to the release of the Pixel Watch last year. Recently, Google added a new widget that allows users to pin a single Keep note to the home screen.
Furthermore, information from the first Android 14 developer preview suggests that more visual updates are on the way for Wear OS, including Material You dynamic theming across all devices. These changes are part of a larger effort by Google to enhance the user interface and ensure consistency across all Workspace platforms.
