The alarms on the Google Pixel Watch are failing to perform their primary function of waking you up at the scheduled time

Many people rely on their smartwatch’s alarm feature to wake up on time in today’s modern era. Whether it’s the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and 5 series or the Google Pixel Watch, all of them offer an alarm feature. The Pixel Watch uses Google’s Clock app, which is also the default clock app for the company’s Pixel line of smartphones. However, there is a bug with the Pixel Watch alarm that causes it to go off later than the set time, according to complaints from many Pixel Watch users on Reddit.

Some users report that the alarm goes off up to 10 minutes later than programmed, while others experience it going off early. Although most users report this issue with morning alarms, one user had the same problem with a 7 PM alarm. Experts at 9to5Google suggest that Bedtime Mode may be the cause of the problem since it is related to the device being in “deep sleep.” Bedtime Mode turns off the tap-to-wake, always-on display, and notifications functionality to prevent the smartwatch from disturbing you while you sleep.

It is unclear whether Google is aware of the issue since there are no reports in the Pixel Watch Help community or the Google Issue Tracker. Despite owning Fitbit, Google has not yet implemented its Smart Wake feature on its Pixel wearable. Smart Wake learns your sleeping pattern and movement to detect when you move from deep to light sleep, finding the best way to wake you up 30 minutes before the alarm time you have set.

Until Google resolves the issue, users may want to set a backup alarm if they rely on the Pixel Watch to wake them up in the morning.
