According to a statement from Google spokesperson Sofia Giovannello, the company is addressing a bug that caused Pixel Watch alarms to sound at incorrect times. The fix for the issue will be implemented through an update to the Clock app, which will be available on the Play Store. The problem was first reported by users last month, who noticed that their alarms on the smartwatch would sometimes go off a few minutes too early or too late, potentially causing them to miss important appointments or meetings by up to 10 minutes.
9to5Google and Gizmodo have suggested that the problem with the Pixel Watch alarms could be related to Bedtime mode, but tests have not provided conclusive evidence, and Google has not confirmed this theory. In addition, the patch notes for the March 2023 Pixel Watch update, which were shared by 9to5Google on Monday, do not mention the root cause of the issue either.
To ensure that you receive the fix for the Pixel Watch alarm problem when it becomes available, Google spokesperson Giovannello recommends enabling the auto-update apps setting on your watch in the Play Store > Settings. This setting will allow your watch to automatically download updates when it is connected to Wi-Fi and charging.
