By now multiple users using the Samsung Galaxy 5 variants reported that although they purchased and installed watch faces from me before without problems, with my latest creations they encounter a new type of error when the watch after installing the app reports that there is a “Server error” and because of this the watch face cannot be applied.
I tested this on my Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and encountered the same error, but thankfully quickly found the solution too. Let’s go through it step by step.
Step 1: Purchase the watch face or use a promo code
Just as before the first step is acquiring the watch face. I usually advise using a web browser and not the Play Store app as it is easier to select the correct device (your watch) to install the watch face app to.
The end result should be something like this:
Step 2: Encounter the problem
Your watch will soon show an orange dot on the left edge of the screen and checking the notification will confirm that you have the watch face installed.
If you click on this message the watch will offer to Open the app:

Step 3: Solve the problem with the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone
Open the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone, click on the Watch faces, and scroll down to the section where your Downloaded watch faces are.
The freshly installed watch face should be there, so just click on it. This will activate it on your watch and will appear at the top of the Watch faces section too.
Step 4: Celebrate success by checking your brand-new watch face on your phone
