As per a report by Ice Universe (@UniverseIce), the Galaxy Watch 6 series is set to receive an upgrade in terms of screen size and resolution. The Galaxy Watch 6 will be available in two sizes: 40mm and 44mm. As per the report, the 40mm model of the Galaxy Watch 6 will feature a 1.31-inch display with a resolution of 432 x 432 pixels, which is an improvement over the Galaxy Watch 5’s 1.2-inch screen with a resolution of 396 x 396 pixels. The 44mm version of the Galaxy Watch 6 is expected to come with a 1.47-inch circular OLED screen and a resolution of 480 x 480 pixels, which is an upgrade from the Galaxy Watch 5’s 1.4-inch screen with a resolution of 450 x 450 pixels for the 44mm variant.
The Galaxy Watch’s 40mm variant is expected to see a 10% increase in screen size and a 19% bump in resolution. Meanwhile, for the 44mm version of the Galaxy Watch 6, Samsung has reportedly boosted the screen size by 5%, and the resolution by around 13%. This suggests that the upcoming Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic may offer slightly crisper visuals, despite the increased screen size. It’s currently unknown whether the enhanced displays will be supported by a more robust chipset.
As the blood glucose monitoring feature is reportedly still a few years away, it’s likely that the Galaxy Watch 6 series will offer similar health and fitness tracking capabilities to the Galaxy Watch 5 series. These features may include an accelerometer, barometer, blood pressure monitoring, body composition analysis, ECG, GPS, heart rate monitor, sleep tracking, SpO2 measurement, and workout tracking. Additionally, the Galaxy Watch 6 series may feature an MIL-STD-810G design, and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Connectivity options may include GPS, NFC, and Wi-Fi.
