According to reports, Samsung is planning to update its smartwatch series in 2023 with new models that will succeed the Galaxy Watch 5 released in 2022. The upcoming smartwatch is expected to be called the Galaxy Watch 6. Recently, a credible source leaked some information about the design of the upcoming wearable, and now a certification agency has disclosed the battery capacity of the device.
According to GalaxyClub, SafetyKorea has certified the batteries of two upcoming Samsung smartwatches believed to be from the Galaxy Watch 6 series. The 40mm variant of the Galaxy Watch 6 (SM-R93x) is expected to be powered by a 300mAh battery, which is slightly larger than the 284mAh battery in the 40mm version of the Galaxy Watch 5 and the 247mAh battery in the Galaxy Watch 4. Despite the marginal difference in battery capacity, the Galaxy Watch 6 is expected to have better endurance than its predecessors.
Furthermore, the 44mm variant of the Galaxy Watch 6 is expected to come with a 425mAh battery, which is an improvement over the 410mAh battery in the Watch 5 and the 361mAh battery in the Watch 4.
Additionally, there are rumors that the Galaxy Watch 6 will feature curved glass, similar to the Google Pixel Watch, and other potential upgrades, which have yet to be confirmed. Samsung’s redesigned smartwatch series is expected to include these features and more.
